'Dragon Ball Super' Premieres in Japan on July 5th

The first new Dragon Ball series since Dragon Ball GT from 1996-97 is set to debut in Japan on Sunday July 5 at 9AM. Broadcast of Dragon Ball Kai series will end before then according to this year’s 28th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

The new series is dubbed Dragon Ball Super and it takes place a few years after the defeat of Majin Buu. There is no plot information available at this time. However, it’s reported that Kazuya Yoshii will perform the opening theme "Chōzetsu☆Dynamic" (Excellent Dynamic) and rock band Good Morning America will perform the ending theme "Hello Hello Hello." Masako Nozawa, the voice of Goku, Gohan, and Goten, is returning for the series, and Toei Animation’s Kimitoshi Chioka will direct.
