ROBOTECH Wants A Piece of Furious 7's James Wan

After directing this year's first mega box office hit Furious 7 (1.5 billion and counting), James Wan has no doubt become the most sought after director at the moment. He has now been blessed with the luxury of picking his next high profile projects. Aquaman for Warner Bros. and Furious 8 for Universal, are among the many big projects being thrown at him.

Now Sony also wants a piece of James Wan. News broke that he's in early talks with Sony to direct the long-in-development live-action adaption of Robotech. However, James Wan is already committed to direct The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist this fall, so it's hard to guess when he'll actually get around to do the other proposed projects. But for now this is good news for Robotech fans. With his style and expertise, he can really make an awesome Robotech, especially if the movie tailors its special effects quality like that of Transformers or Pacific Rim.

Check out the original animated Robotech: The Movie trailer below.

Robotech is a sprawling sci-fi epic that takes place at a time when Earth has developed giant robots from the technology on an alien spacecraft that crashed on a South Pacific island. Mankind is forced to use the technology to fend off three successive waves of alien invasions.
