Taylor Swift, Unstoppable with '1989' Outselling Her Last Two Albums

After just 19 weeks of release, Taylor Swift's 1989 has now outsold both of her last two albums. It is her first venture to pop territory after strictly releasing country albums. With this success it's quite possible she might stay in pop genre for awhile.

1989 has now reached 4.505 million in sales by selling another 44,000 copies in the week ending March 8, according to Nielsen Music. Her last album, 2012's Red sold 4.160 million after 124 weeks. 2010's Speak Now has garnered 4.480 million after 228 weeks. 1989 was the top selling album last year (3.661 million sold) and remains the top seller of 2015 so far (844,000). It smoked the ratings by debuting at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 1.287 million sold in its first week.

Taylor Swift is the real deal. Many artists are surrounded with so much hype but after releasing an album or two, those hypes disappear into thin air. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's hype never fades. She has proven time and time again why she belongs with the top dogs of the music industry by her consistent sale numbers and marketability. If you haven't yet bought a copy of her album 1989, grab one now at your nearest retailer.
