HBO is making an unprecedented change and announced that
Game of Thrones will premiere in over 170 countries and territories across the
globe simultaneously with the US airing on Sunday, April 12 at 9:00pm ET. This comes after launching HBO Now streaming
service that anyone is the US with Internet and an Apple device can sign up
for.
Cited as one of the "most pirated show in the world”, the
most searched TV show on Google and #1 most talked about show in the US. The
move could be welcome news by international viewers who often voice the reason
for pirating the show is due to delays before its available where they are. Among those participating are the HBO branded
networks: HBO Asia, HBO Canada, HBO Europe, HBO Latin America, HBO Netherlands
and HBO Nordic. Also included are international "Home of HBO"
services including: Africa/M-Net, Australia/Foxtel, Belgium(Flemish)/Telenet to
name a few.
