The software company just confirmed during Microsoft
Convergence that the Internet Explorer brand is going away. The upcoming unnamed
browser, codenamed Project Spartan is slated to be release with Windows 10.
Internet Explorer will still be available in some version of
Windows 10 for enterprise compatibility. However, Windows 10 users will have
Project Spartan as the primary way to access the web. Currently Microsoft is
testing names with market research. It’s likely that Project Spartan will have
the Microsoft name attached to it since the brand shows more power over just
Windows or Internet Explorer. It’s all part of improving the perception of the Microsoft’s
brand.
Check out the CNET Video below when Project Spartan was introduce during The Windows 10 Event in January.
