TOHO film studio just released a full teaser trailer for the two upcoming live-action Attack on Titan films, slated to open on August 1 and September 19. The films are now being edited for completion after it was confirmed in July. Filming ended last August.
The films are supervised by Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama and Directed by Shinji Higuchi. The story is based on the world and characters of the manga with new characters and new formidable enemies integrated for the films. It is reported that the character Shikishima holds the key to the film’s story as "humanity's strongest man."
The manga depicts the battles between humans and the giants who now rule the world outside humans' walled enclaves.
Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed simulcast of the anime version of the manga as it aired in Japan. Attack on Titan manga has inspired four spinoff manga, a television anime series and two compilation films, the second film will open in June. A second season of the television anime series is scheduled for 2016 release.
